Windermere Preparatory School

Windermere Preparatory School Website Design ProjectThe Windermere Preparatory School is a private school that seeks to educate and grow young children to become life-long learners who are prepared for college, socially responsible, and able to succeed in a changing society.  When asked to redesign the school’s website for the upcoming enrollment and recruitment, I knew I had to deliver a design that would make it easy to use and build brand awareness.

What I did
The school felt that their old site was boxy and outdated.  I consulted with 61Pixels to design a site that was modern and simplistic while easy to maintain using WordPress as the content management system.  We chose a font, color scheme and layout that would reflect trends of today’s popular websites. The use of drop-down menus was replaced with a more descriptive and user friendly navigation that was limited to two tiers.  I developed a clean and elegant faculty directory application that displays faculty bio and contact information.  How the directory information was managed was important since the data changes frequently and may need to be approved by others.  I simplified the process and now users edit an excel sheet then upload the changes to the directory application.

CSS, XHTML, PHP, WordPress publishing platform, Google Analytics to track performance
