What is a Search Engine Optimization Evaluation?
Search Engine Optimization (also known as SEO) refers to "optimizing" websites and web pages to rank well in the search engines. Our search engine optimization evaluation includes a survey of your existing website and report within seven business days.
Before we can begin the evaluation we need to know a little about your business and website. Understanding your business helps us identify your audience and industry.
Also, your website generates web traffic data that identifies the amount of traffic and how people get to your site. We will need this data because it has information on your visitors and keywords they use to reach your website. Your web host most likely has a traffic-analysis tool installed on your website that reports that data. If you are not sure, we can help.
Below is our five step approach to evaluating your website:
Step 1Website ranking and traffic report
Using our custom software, we will perform a website ranking report on how it ranks with the various search engines. Most importantly, is your website displayed in search engines, search directories and local searches? Also, we will look at your web traffic data for important information, such as which websites, search engines and keywords people are using to reach your website.
Step 2Keyword analysis
We want to make sure you are using the right keywords in your web pages. Send us keywords you feel are important and we will analyze the activity of those keywords in major search engines and show you how popular these keywords are. We will also recommend keywords that should be part of your search engine strategy. Analyzing keywords gives you the ability to choose the right keywords.
Step 3Website visibility test
If your website isn’t ranked or the ranking is low, it is possible search engines are unable to find their way around your website. If your website is poorly indexed in search engines, it could be because of poorly designed navigations or the use dynamic pages.
Step 4Web pages examination
Are your pages built correctly and giving your website the maximum amount of exposure in search engines? We review the HTML code for potential problems such as using frames, poor title tags, improper positioning of the description tags, text embedded into images or incorrect keywords.
Step 5Recommendations on increasing your website ranking
Optimizing your website and submitting it to search engines is not always enough. It does not guarantee that they will include your site and it does not guarantee that your website will rank well. We will provide recommendations on using sitemaps, submitting to the search directories, link building strategies, how other websites can link to your website or using Pay Per Click to quickly generate traffic through the search engines.
